Metatrade greasemonkey script

The Greasemonkey script that adds RSS icons to Trademe pages (via the metatrade service) has now been updated to point to the new site. It’s probably easier than pasting in the URL

And just because it’s been too long since I’ve posted a screenshot and I have this old image handy to show what it does

After some time of ignoring the project, I finally got around to uploading the shiny new version of http://metatrade.co.nz. It’s now built on GWT/mod_python, and is much more shiny and ajax-y than the old version.

I haven’t had time to move all the old features over to the new UI however, so the fancy trademe filtering UI isn’t there. But this will mean that noone has to be without their basic RSS feeds or daily-deal feeds any more, at least

^ is the name of the new twitter account I just set up to push daily deal notifications over. I have some ideas to integrate twitter with some more of my metatrade stuff as well, but I’ll see how well this goes before I get too invested in it. Personally I still prefer the RSS feed, but ymmv.

The metadeal page has had some updates too. Items are sorted by when they were discovered, and ‘new’ ones (from the last scan, so less than an hour old) are bold. Should make it easier to quickly scan the page. I still need to add images on there, but then I think my job is just about done.

I just added a page that aggregates all of those daily-deal sites that seem to be popping up everywhere these days into one list. Check it out.

To forestall a common question, if you subscribe to the feed you get pictures.

I just launched a new version of my Trademe stuff. It’s on its own domain now, with a shiny new look. Go check it out now: http://metatrade.co.nz

As you can see, it has a shiny new search interface. Behind the scenes, that set of filters is being turned into the query string ‘size > 40 and size < 70 and not (town like “%Hamilton%”) and bid < 1500 and bid > 1000 ‘. The query grammar is…fairly complete.

It also does various other interesting things. Go see.
